Are you ready for exciting things that are about to happen this year for
our association? I am hoping so because I am, so hang on to your hats as
we put this year into high gear for good changes, new things ahead and
lots of good times. Do I sound excited? You bet! Let me explain.
First, I am excited about working with my new officers and board members
for the upcoming year. Second, I am excited about Lisa Doran and Faith
Toole leading us in our 9th annual HCAT&MA show at our new location, the
new Hendricks County Fair & Convention center. They already have an
expanded list of events and sponsor support with more still to come.
Third, Jay Ellis will be leading us again this year in constructing a new
float for 2007. It will be built on a new twin axle trailer allowing for a
lower platform for people along the parade route to have a better view of
our float, plus added safety for our members.
Hang on to the steering wheel because there is more! Next, and fourth,
let's get ready for another July harvest day at our new location, using
older equipment (I hope we don?t break anything) to harvest a field of
wheat, demonstrating to our neighbors and friends how farming was
performed 50 to 75 years ago. Fifth, there are the local Parades,
Festivals, County and State Fairs that we will be involved in as usual.
Finally, our long range planning committee that is being lead by Mike
Jones will be presenting some exciting ideas for our association to be
involved with in the future.
Well, I hope you are now excited like me for the upcoming year and ready
to volunteer where and when you can as there will be lots to do. It is
time to put the make believe tractor away for now, because spring is just
around the corner. So you know what that means? See you at the Fair
grounds!
