The 2006 Annual ANTIQUE POWER & ENGINE SHOW

The 2006 Annual ANTIQUE POWER & ENGINE SHOW was held on June 2, 3 & 4. This year's feature tractor was John Deere. The Hoosier Two-Cylinder Club (HTTC) was invited to have a "Hospitality Area" for other Two-Cylinder clubs and John Deere Collectors. The HTTC had members in or near the Hospitality area all 3 days of the show. We would like to thank the HTTC for bringing 27 tractors and 4 gas engines to display at our show. Some of the finest restored tractors were at our show. Jack Cook, Summers Farms, Ron Parker and Wayne Allford just to mention a few brought some very nicely restored John Deeres to the show.

A total of 77 John Deeres were at this year's show. That is not bad, considering the little publicity and the high cost of fuel. Steve DeWeese was a big help to me in helping clean and get the area ready for the show.

Edwards Equipment in Danville loaned us a brand new John Deere utility tractor for the weekend. It was on display beside the antique tractors. Edwards also loaned us a John Deere Dealer sign. Noel Brumm skillfully placed the sign on the end of the barn. By mounting of the sign, we declared the barn as "The John Deere Pavilion" for the remainder of the show.

And then there are big new ones!

The tractor "Teeter-Totter" was loaned to us by the Hoosier Two-Cylinder Club. Many people got to try their skill at balancing a tractor. Dave Switzer showed the most skill as he mastered it several times. By the end of the show, the JD Dealer sign had to come down. Thanks to Brian Summerlot for taking down the sign.
